Solutions · Google brand protection

Catch the fakes standing in your Google results.

Your Google results are the front door. A fake Merchant Center account can sit in the Shopping grid tonight, wearing your product photos at a price the real product can't touch, while a cloned storefront ranks on your brand name beside it. Brand Protector sweeps both surfaces daily in the US and UK, scores what isn't yours into one inbox with the evidence attached, and builds the takedown packet for Google's own reporting process. Nothing is filed without you.

  • Google Search organic results swept daily for copycat storefronts ranking on your brand

What it costs you

What a fake in your Google results takes.

The click you paid to earn

Your ad spend, your ranking, and your reviews built that results page. A fake offer sits one tile over at a price the real product can't touch, and the shopper clicks the cheapest tile. The click was yours. The checkout isn't.

The blame, delivered to you

The customer who bought from the fake searched your brand and believes they bought from you. The missing order lands in your support inbox. The one-star review lands on your name. The fake keeps the money; you keep the cleanup.

A problem that regenerates

Google suspends merchant accounts, not the operation behind them. Each account that dies is replaced by the next one, fed by the same storefront. Until that storefront comes down, the Shopping grid refills.

How it works

How it works for your Google results.

Both surfaces watched daily. Evidence first, filings when they're warranted. Your first checks start as soon as setup finishes, and coverage builds over the first week as each marketplace is swept.

Point us at your brand

Give us the brand name and allowlist what's yours: your own domains and every merchant authorized to sell you, by domain and by display name. Your listings and your real retailers never surface as threats.

Both Google surfaces, swept daily

The Shopping sweep queries your brand in US and UK locales, drops allowlisted merchants, and scores the rest into your inbox as name infringement. The Search sweep runs buying-intent queries on your brand and classifies whatever ranks that isn't yours, from parked lookalike to cloned checkout. Evidence rides along: the observed listing, its merchant or domain, timestamps, and URLs.

Review, approve, file

A Shopping fake gets a complaint packet mapped to Google's Report Content flow, field by field. You review it, authorize it, and file it on Google's form. A copycat storefront in Search gets a report prepared for Google's own copyright or counterfeit form, which you file the same way. The storefront itself can also go to its registrar's abuse desk, or to Shopify when the store runs on Shopify.

The machinery

Two Google surfaces, one loop.

Detection, evidence, and a packet built for the process Google actually runs.

The Shopping grid, checked every day

Daily brand-keyword sweeps of Google Shopping in US and UK locales. Merchants are checked against your authorized list, by domain and by display name, so your own channels never flag. What's left is classified as name infringement and scored. Where you've uploaded official product photos, an image-comparison score rides along as reviewer context.

Organic results, treated as a threat surface

Buying-intent queries on your brand run daily against Google's US and UK results. Your domains and authorized merchants drop out; whatever ranks in your place gets classified, from parked lookalike to cloned storefront, and scored into the same inbox as everything else. Most tools stop at Shopping. The organic page is where the clones live.

A packet built for Google's own flow

Google takes rights complaints through its Report Content process, so that's what the packet is shaped for: complaint type split by the claims you actually hold, mark and registration details, exact URLs, and a field-by-field guide matching the form. A copyright-only complaint carries no trademark claim. You file it as the claimant of record, and a complete complaint moves faster than a vague one.

The storefront behind the listing

When a Shopping fake or a search result fronts a copycat store, the listing is a symptom and the domain is the asset. The search result gets a report on Google's own copyright or counterfeit form. The storefront itself can go to its registrar's abuse desk, found through WHOIS and RDAP, or to Shopify when the store runs on Shopify. When the storefront comes down, the listings stop regenerating.

The honest part

What a Google takedown can and can't do.

Google's rights complaints are reviewed by people, and Google publishes no turnaround; practitioners commonly see about a week to several weeks. The Shopping complaint is filed on Google's own form, which means we prepare the packet and you file it, as the claimant of record. Google decides what comes down. We build the complaint so the reviewer has everything, and your records show exactly where each one stands.

Google decides whether a search result comes out. We prepare the report for Google's own copyright or counterfeit form and you file it as the claimant. The storefront behind the result can also be reported to its registrar, or to Shopify for Shopify-hosted stores; registrars move on their own timelines, and some don't move at all. The daily sweep keeps running after a removal, so the next fake merchant lands in the same inbox.

Objections, welcome

Questions, answered straight.

Can you get a fake Google Shopping listing taken down?
We find it, evidence it, and build the complaint for Google's Report Content flow; you review and file it. Google reviews rights complaints manually and makes the call. Its counterfeit policy is unusually severe: merchant accounts are suspended on detection, without the warning cycle most violations get.
Do you file the Google complaint for us?
No. Google's complaint flows are forms, so we prepare the packet: complaint type, mark and registration details, exact URLs, and the statement, laid out field by field against Google's own form. You review it, authorize it, and file it. Notices that go by email, like a registrar abuse notice for a copycat storefront, we send after you attest. Your records show which complaints are prepared and which are filed.
We already police the marketplaces. Why watch Google too?
Because Google sits in front of them. Shoppers search the brand before they buy anywhere, and an impersonating listing or a copycat result intercepts that demand before it reaches any channel you police. Shopping and organic Search are 2 of the 16 surfaces in the same plan, alongside the marketplaces themselves and a weekly sweep of AI shopping answers (engines we run today: Claude and Gemini).
Will my own retailers get flagged?
Not if you list them. The allowlist takes your domains and your authorized merchants, by domain and by display name, and both sweeps drop them before anything is scored. What lands in the inbox is what's left: merchants nobody authorized, trading on your name. Changes to the list take effect on the next daily sweep.
The fake listing points at a clone of my site. Which takedown is that?
Both, run in parallel. The Google report targets the listing or the search result; the storefront takedown targets the money. A search result gets a report for Google's own copyright or counterfeit form. The storefront notice goes to its registrar's abuse desk, found through WHOIS and RDAP, or to Shopify when the store runs on Shopify. The domain is the asset with continuity; when it comes down, the Shopping listings stop regenerating.
Can you watch prices on Google Shopping too, not just fakes?
Yes. Google Shopping is one of the four US sources MAP Protector checks advertised prices against your MAP policy, with screenshot evidence on every violation, in the same plan. It's a separate discipline with its own legal posture, so it lives on its own page at /solutions/map-monitoring.
